In Hoomies Club you have two payment options in order to home exchanges:

The premium membership in Hoomies Club costs €260. This is an annual subscription that allows you to make unlimited exchanges for 12 months, send unlimited requests, the possibility of making reciprocal exchanges and exchanges for HoomCoins as a guest and access to the HoomTips, the guides made by the members of the houses where you stay to know first hand what to do, what to see, what to eat as well as curiosities or what is the most typical and typical of the place.

HoomOne is also available for 100€. This is the payment by exchange. If you want to try home exchange and don’t want to commit to an annual subscription, you can search for your exchange and, when you accept it, make the payment. In this way and with this fee you can make the exchange but keep in mind that with this fee you would have to pay every time you want to make an exchange. In this case you would not have access to unlimited exchanges, nor access to HoomTips and you would not get HoomCoins.

Remember that registering on our site is free, and to host exchanges for HoomCoins you don’t need to pay any fee or subscription.

Of course, whenever you invite a friend to join our club you will get HoomCoins as a reward for your recommendation. To do this, you must send the code that appears in “My account” section of your personal Hoomies Club space to your friend, then they must register using that code and automatically when they register with the code and are verified, the HoomCoins as a thank you for recommending us will be transferred to your profile.

To join Hoomies Club you have to first register as a user, it’s free. Then you can complete your personal profile and upload your house. Once your user and your house are verified favourably by the platform you will become a member of Hoomies Club and you will be able to get in touch with the rest of the members looking for exchanges.

In Hoomies Club you can carry out different types of exchanges depending on what you prefer or what suits you best at any given time:

• Reciprocal exchange: this is an exchange in which you and another member exchange your homes during the period you agree upon. It is a house-to-house exchange. You stay at his place and he stays at your place.
  You can exchange house-to-house during the same dates (simultaneous reciprocal exchange) or on different dates: you stay in his house during some dates and he stays in your house on different dates (non-simultaneous reciprocal exchange).

• Exchange for points: this is the exchange of  a home for HoomCoins. You can stay at other members’ houses in exchange for HoomCoins and other members can stay at your house in exchange for giving you HoomCoins.
  In other words, you use HoomCoins as a barter currency to be able to stay at other members’ houses without the need for those members to stay at your house. HoomCoins cannot be bought, they can only be obtained by hosting members in your house, for each night you will receive one HoomCoin, and these will be accumulated in your account so that you can use them in exchanges for HoomCoins with other members.

Example exchange for HoomCoins:

MEMBER X wants to stay at MEMBER Y‘s house.

MEMBER Y does not want to go to MEMBER X‘s place, but wants to go to MEMBER Z‘s place.

MEMBER X stays at MEMBER Y‘s place by exchanging HoomCoins, and MEMBER Y can use these HoomCoins to stay at MEMBER Z‘s place.

*You can also earn HoomCoins by registering and verifying your profile, uploading and verifying a home, filling in the HoomTips relating to your accommodation, signing up as a premium member of Hoomies Club and renewing your annual subscription with us.

Yes, of course. In a reciprocal exchange you exchange home for home. You stay at a member’s home and they stay at yours during the dates you agree on, which can be the same dates or different ones for each of you. If it is a reciprocal exchange on different dates, it is a non-simultaneous reciprocal exchange. Simply when you agree on the dates in the chat details of your conversation, you can define on which dates each of you will stay in the other’s house, and then accept the exchange and have it registered.

A HoomCoins exchange is when you exchange HoomCoins for a home.

Instead of agreeing with a member who wants to come to your house and you have to go to theirs, you use HoomCoins as a barter currency to be able to stay at another member’s house without the need for that particular member to stay at your house.

On the other hand, if you receive exchange proposals with HoomCoins, and you accept the exchange, you will receive HoomCoins in exchange for hosting another member in your home and you can then use them to stay in another member’s home.

In exchanges for HoomCoins each night of accommodation you enjoy has the same value regardless of the home you stay in, we believe that the value per night of each house really depends on the interest and motivation of the trip of each member and their convenience at any given time, therefore, we would not dare to value the homes of the members by giving them a certain number of HoomCoins per night because all the houses in Hoomies Club are especially important.

To request a home exchange you should search for accommodation in the destination you want to travel to through our search engine or through the HoomWall. Once you find accommodation that you like you should send exchange proposals through the contact button, in this way you will open a chat with the member who has uploaded that accommodation. You can explain the reasons for your trip or why you would like to stay at their place. Once you have agreed on the dates and type of exchange, you can register it in the chat details to finally pre-approve and accept the exchange.

The number of HoomCoins will depend on each exchange. Specifically, it will depend on the number of nights you are going to enjoy another member’s accommodation or the number of nights another member enjoys your home. 1 HoomCoin is equal to 1 night.

The process of transferring HoomCoins from one member’s account to the other is automated, and once both parties to the exchange have accepted the agreed details, they will be automatically transferred from one account to the other.

In exchanges for HoomCoins each night of accommodation you enjoy has the same value regardless of the house you stay in, we believe that the value per night of each house really depends on the interest and motivation of each member’s trip and their convenience at any given time, therefore, we would not dare to value members’ houses by giving them a certain number of HoomCoins per night because all the houses in Hoomies Club are especially important.

HoomCoins cannot be bought but there are several ways to get HoomCoins:

• When you register, you become a member of Hoomies Club and as a welcome gift, once your profile has been verified, you will receive HoomCoins.
• When you upload a property to Hoomies Club you will also receive HoomCoins as a gift, once it has been verified.
• When you make exchanges with HoomCoins in which you act as a host member. That is, when other members stay in your home in exchange for HoomCoins.
• By inviting your friends to join Hoomies Club and registering with your code that you will find in the “my account” section of your personal profile.
• By filling in the HoomTips linked to the accommodation you offer.
• By signing up as a premium member with the annual subscription and by renewing your subscription automatically and as a token of your trust in our Club, HoomCoins will be transferred to your profile so that you can use them to exchange in your preferred destinations.

The number of HoomCoins you have is displayed on the main page of your personal space, under “My account” and also whenever you are logged in with your user you will have them visible on the right side of the top bar of the page.

In case you do not have enough HoomCoins to be able to stay at the member’s house you want, you have different options:

• You can host other members in your home to get more HoomCoins.
• You can invite friends to join our Club and if they use your code when registering, HoomCoins will be transferred to your account automatically.
• Finally, when you renew your annual subscription you also get HoomCoins as a free gift.

If you still do not have enough HoomCoins, you can look for other accommodations that want to do reciprocal home exchanges, in which HoomCoins are not involved.

Once you have chosen the destination and you have found accommodations where you want to stay, you must contact the host through the chat, where you can write a message about why you want to go to his house and you can also send him an exchange request, selecting the dates you want to go and the type of exchange you prefer. After sending the request you will have to wait for a reply and know if you accept the exchange in order to close it.

Yes, Hoomies Club does not put any impediment to this but we recommend that in the description of your personal profile you write who you usually travel with and that you explain it beforehand to the member with whom you are going to make the exchange so that they know and it is up to them to decide.

It will always depend on the member you want to do the exchange with. In the search filter you can find the option of accommodation where pets are welcome, so it will be much easier for you to find the most suitable accommodation and in any case you can always ask even if the accommodation is not marked as pet friendly.

In the same way that you offer your home to other members, those same members must exchange theirs. All Hoomies Club members are verified by the platform as well as all the homes that are offered. All members must have at least one property registered, therefore Hoomies Club members enjoy the same conditions, we stay in other members’ homes and we host members in our homes. Home exchange is based on trust, respect and hospitality.

You simply have to leave a free space in the kitchen, bedrooms and other rooms for the members who will stay at your place to leave their personal belongings. Although we all share the same values of respect, trust and hospitality, you can always keep what you consider appropriate in a private space.

Make sure you leave your home in good condition and if you consider it appropriate, you can leave a list of how certain electronic devices or household appliances work or any other indications you consider necessary for them to know.

No. Any economic transaction between Hoomies Club members is forbidden. If, for example, you need a cleaning service, you can discuss it with your host so that he/she can provide you with a contact person, but it will not be a mandatory expense under any circumstances. Any service you wish to contract or other type of expense should never and under no circumstances be a mandatory payment conditioned to the exchange.

The ideal is to hand over the keys personally, so you also have the opportunity to meet Hoomies Club members. If this is not possible, there are other options such as having a friend or acquaintance deliver the keys, sending a set of keys by courier or with the smart locks, which can be accessed by simply providing the code.

You can exchange your home for as many days as you want and agree with another member. It can be a few days, a week, a month or up to 1 year if you agree on it.

Yes, the number of exchanges is unlimited for as long as your annual premium subscription is active. In addition, with the annual subscription you have unlimited exchanges without having to pay for each one of them.

As it is a home exchange, these expenses (as long as they are reasonable expenses) will be covered by the host member. In the same way that members make use of these services of your home when they stay in, you also make use of these services when you stay in another member’s home.

It is possible to exchange cars during the dates of the home exchange as long as this has been agreed between the members of the exchange. It is important that both parties are in agreement and that they check the vehicle cover with the insurance company.

No, Hoomies Club is dedicated solely and exclusively to home exchanges.

To contact other members you need to be verified and also you have to upload a home and be verified as well. Once this process has been passed, you will be able to contact other members through the chat, with which you can exchange messages, as well as send and receive exchange requests and accept the exchanges you want. You will find the contact button on each home’s page.

The coverages depend on the insurance contracted by each owner or tenant. You should check with your insurance company what type of coverage you have contracted. In any case, coverages should be the same.

It’s not just a way to get free accommodation on your travels, with the exchange you get to enrich your experiences even more. To make it all work, when you host a member it is important to leave your home in good condition, tidy and explain to your guest any indications you think are necessary. When you stay at another member’s home, you should take care and treat the house with the greatest possible respect and if you have any doubts, ask, communication is key for everything to work.

Please note that it is important to know that cancellations do not only affect you, but also the other party involved. For this reason, we recommend that you only consider this option in situations of force majeure. Ideally, you should contact the other member to let them know and, between you both, decide whether to change the dates, postpone the trip or if the cancellation is finally necessary. In the event that the cancelled exchange was being carried out with HoomCoins, if the host member is the one cancelling the exchange, the HoomCoins will be automatically refunded to the invited member.

Please note that an early cancellation due to force majeure is not the same as a last minute cancellation.

If you cancel an exchange with HoomCoins as a guest member, it is up to the host member to decide whether or not to return them to you. It is important that before cancelling the exchange you contact the other member to try to find an alternative solution such as changing the dates and if you are unable to do so, explain the reasons.

In case the cancellation is due to force majeure and the host member decides not to refund the HoomCoins, please contact us at: contact@hoomiesclub.com and we will support you in any way you need.

In the event of further cancellations by a member, Hoomies Club will take whatever action it deems appropriate.

In Hoomies Club you can exchange your primary residence and your second home. Each member can upload up to two homes with which they can use for a home exchange.

Yes, in a home exchange in Hoomies Club there is no economic transaction between members, so it is not a sublet, it is as if you let your home to a family member or a friend to spend a few days. Even so, we recommend that you check with the owner.

In order to verify your house you simply need to attach, during the process of uploading your house to the platform, a document that links you to the house. This document can be an ID card, utility bill or a registration certificate.

This step is very important as all Hoomies Club houses are verified to avoid any kind of dubious activity. Until your house is verified by the platform it will not be eligible to receive or send exchange proposals.

No. As a premium subscription member you have access to unlimited exchanges for the entire active period of your subscription. In any case, as long as you are a member with premium subscription you will not have to pay for each exchange you register, you can register as many as you want. The annual premium membership fee is a fixed fee and does not depend on the number of swaps you make.

Of course, even if you cancel your subscription, you will continue to enjoy all the benefits it offers until the end of the 12-month period from the start of the subscription, but it will not be automatically renewed for the next period.

Remember that even if you do not have your premium subscription activated, you will still be able to host members in your home in exchange for HoomCoins.

When you are going to register a reciprocal exchange or an exchange for HoomCoins as a guest, i.e. for any exchange in which you use another member’s home as accommodation.

If you have a premium membership you will be able to register the exchange directly.

If you have HoomOne credit, you will be able to register the exchange and the credit will be deducted directly.

If you have neither an active premium subscription nor any credit already purchased, you will be able to choose which option you prefer when registering the exchange.
